The Mealies - Live at BoMA
Released: 2010
Label: Weasel Records
Last spring Willy joined up with the Carpe Diem String Quartet in their hometown of Columbus for a supposed on-time-only collaboration. What ended up happening is that they wowed audiences and realized they created something special. Those performances are now captured in part on "The Mealies - Live at BoMA." Seven of Willy's previously released songs have been beautifully rearranged with the quartet for a stunning new take on these fan favorites.
How To Rob A Bank
Released: 2009
Label: Weasel Records
"How To Rob A Bank," the latest release from esteemed guitarist/singer-songwriter Willy Porter, showcases his continued growth as a songwriter and recording artist. Porter offers a rich blend of salt and sugar with tracks that move easily from rough-hewn electric edges into soulful irony with equal aplomb. Jeff Giles of Popdose.com says, "It's another solid entry in a discography full of them, and one of the smarter, more durable albums of grown-up music we're likely to get this year."
Available Light
Released: 2006
Label: Weasel Records
Available Light, Willy Porter's sixth album, finds the guitarist, singer and songwriter at home in his own musical world. Equal parts muscle, intimacy and atmosphere, the CD is Porter's most fully realized offering to date, and his first on his own label, Weasel Records.
Available Light features his band comprised of Dave Adler (keyboards and co-production), Dave Schoepke (drums and percussion) and Steve Kleiber (bass). Available Light was mixed by multiple Grammy winning Producer and Engineer Neil Dorfsman (Dire Straits, Sting...).
