My wife and I returned from our 5th trip to the Winnipeg Folk Festival on Monday 7/12/04. We just got home from your show in 'Tosa (7/14/04) a few minutes ago.We see lots of live music, including dozens of your shows. We have all of your CDs. We are blessed to live in the Milwaukee area where we can see you a couple of times each year.
Check out the website: http://www.winnipegfolkfestival.com/. It is an awesome festival. More than 30 years running! Four days of music -- from noon to midnight each day. The festival attracts over 200 performers each year (not all designated as 'folk'), with as many as 10,000 hardcore music fans soaking it in each day.
Each performer gets to perform several sets. Some of the sets are "workshops" with several different artists sharing a small stage in the woods. The top perfomers (like you) do concerts on the Main Stage each night.
You will love it! The fans will adore you (and buy up all the CDs you bring with you). They will go back to their homes in Canada, Minnesota and elsewhere and spread the word.
We can't believe you are going to Alaska this year. We are very jealous. We went to Alaska for our honeymoon and we can't wait to go back. Enjoy! And don't forget to try a couple of the local brews.
